Google has a great keyword list; its pretty long. Plus, you will need to stay in tune with your keywords and if they don't work, move in new sets.
For example, illumicubes.com is about illuminated, and decorated glass blocks. In your key description, you have to incorporated these specific words to get a running jump start.

Kristine,
There are many keyword tools, both free and paid ones. I would suggest using Google's own keyword tool which is free. Google is the biggest search engine, and they know which keywords are being searched more often.
here is the link for Google's keyword tool: (their url is too long)
https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeting/Explorer?__u=5289203814&__c=5178027264&ideaRequestType=KEYWORD_IDEAS#search.none

Here are a few free keyword tools:
1- http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/search.html
2- http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/
3- http://www.wordpot.com/
4- http://www.wordstream.com/keywords/
5- http://www.addme.com/keywordsuggest.htm

Good luck.

spend a week on looking at the clients in the area. know whether you want to service the public or a company. if there are many office blocks around you and professionals, a good business would be printing and stationery. every office needs stationery, such as pens, pencils, staples, paper, envelopes. some offices do not have copy machines, you can do photo copy's. also look into printing business cards and flyers. or open a resturant, fast foods, or if you are in a professional area, open up something where business people could visit your resturant, as a meeting place, set up there laptops, use your internet bandwith and at the end of their meal and meeting, you serve them with one account for food, drinks, and internet bandwith. that would be cool

Hi there,

In terms of free versions, there are 2 keyword research tools that are the best in my opinion and then a bunch of free tools which will help in varying degrees.

Here are the 2 free tools:

Wordtracker Free Tool
http://affiliate.wordtracker.com/r/699/a/152451/l/v42ax8

Google Free Tool
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

A nice free brainstorming keyword tool I like to use is:
www.kwmap.net

You can also check out my blog where I will be posting more information on Keyword research - my goal is 5 posts a week :).

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

If you haven't done so already, you should submit your site to Yahoo for inclusion in their search engine. See the link below for instructions.

A Male Human,

Lol, good name. You're right, keyword research is utterly confusing and most people don't know what they are talking about.

That's because they haven't bothered understand WHY they are doing keyword research. Once you understand the why, you will devise the how.

So, why do keyword research? What goals are you trying to accomplish?

Obviously "good" keywords are ones that will bring you the most traffic to your website, and subsequently, the most sales/profits.

However, high traffic is not enough. That's just 1/4th of the equation. That's because unqualified or untargeted traffic is worthless traffic. Someone searching for "Superman toys" doesn't want to read a page about "Interior Design 101." So your traffic must be interested in what you're offering.

Furthermore, certain keywords have more inherent likelihood someone will buy. "Buy Canon SD1000" will produce more sales than "funny jokes." The term "buy" in that former keyword denotes that the searcher is ready to buy, so you want to jump on that opportunity.

But some keywords are less obvious. Which keyword has more commercial intent - real estate investing or property investing? Sound pretty similar, but one is worth 3x more money. There is a keyword search tool that calculates a metric that I think is genius in determining commercial intent. It's called Market Samurai.

Also, you want a keyword you can realistically rank well for. So if your competition is 1000x stronger than you with a million backlinks and a PageRank of 7, you realistically will never rank well for that keyword, so don't waste your breath. Go after keywords you can win.

4 Things to Accomplish in Keyword Research:
-High Relevancy
-High Traffic
-High Commercial Intent
-Low SEO/PPC Competition

So that's why you do keyword research, to figure how how plausible it is for you to accomplish those four things.

As far as the how, check out this in-depth post:
http://theinternetmarketingtools.com/keywordmethod/

Market Samurai is a great keyword search tool to accomplish all of that, so check this review out:
